US-China-Australia Dialogue on Energy Security and Climate Change

The Global Foundation, of Melbourne, and CANZ collaborated on putting on this high level one day meeting bringing together senior representatives from Australia, China and the US to discuss the future of energy security and climate change. Taking place on September 18, the dialog with thirty participants included from China Amb. for Climate Change Negotiations Yu Qingtai, Amb. Ma Zhengang, Amb. Zhou Wenzhong and Professor Pan Jiahua, from Australia Amb. Dennis Richardson, Deputy Secretary in the Department of the Environment and Heritage and head of the Australian Greenhouse OfficeHoward Bamsey, former Victorian Treasurer and Minister for the Environment Tom Roper and from the US Under Secretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs, Paula Dobriansky, former Clinton National Security Advisor Anthony Lake, former Special Assistant to the President for national security affairs and Senior Director for Asian affairs at the National Security Council Mike Green, Kurt Campbell, and Georgetown Professor Joanna Lewis. Senior private sector participants from Boeing, Alcoa, Transfield and GE also participated, as well as senior representatives from the World Bank and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and the China Institute for International Studies.
